Vale Kevin ‘KB’ Bentley
It is with great sadness that the Mitcham Football Club announces the passing of Kevin ‘KB’ Bentley, who passed away on Saturday 19th September 2026 following a battle with cancer.
KB was a much-loved and valued member of the Mitcham Football Club community for more than five decades, having been involved in so many different capacities since the 1970s. From his days as a junior and senior player, to his time as a junior coach, passionate supporter and valued past player, KB’s connection to Mitcham was a special one.
Beyond football, KB was also a talented junior and senior cricketer at Mitcham Cricket Club, before going on to enjoy success as a coach with Knox Football Netball Club.
Our deepest thoughts and sympathies are with KB’s wife Karen, daughters Sian and Cassie, his brother and former Mitcham teammate Marty, and the entire Bentley family during this incredibly difficult time.
Many within our club will also fondly remember KB’s parents, Life Member Bob Bentley and his wife Val, both of whom made their own wonderful contributions to the Mitcham community.
KB’s passing is a sad loss for our football club and the wider Mitcham family. He will be remembered with great affection and respect by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Rest in peace, KB. Thank you for everything you gave to Mitcham.
