The Mitcham Football Club first awarded Honorary Life Membership in 1949. This honour was introduced to recognise the outstanding contributions of players, officials, support staff, trainers, and administrators who have provided exceptional service to the club. It is regarded as the second-highest accolade the club can bestow upon an individual, sitting just behind induction into the Hall of Fame.
